WHAT IS “AND WOMEN”?

In July of 1848, Seneca Falls, NY was the site of the USA’s first women’s rights convention, primarily organized by prominent social activists Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott. A Declaration of Sentiments was drawn up, patterned in part after the Declaration of Independence with one specific change that was of paramount importance to their cause: “all men are created equal…” was amended to state: “all men and women are created equal…” The document demanded reform, granting women all the rights they were being deprived of, including the right to vote.

Cady Stanton later addressed the backlash convention attendees had to deal with, noting that most of the ladies who signed the declaration later withdrew their names and support. American women finally gained the right to vote with the 19th Amendment to the Constitution in 1920. By that time, Cady Stanton and Mott were deceased, as was Susan B. Anthony whom they first met in Seneca Falls in 1851.

Beth got it right. She bet $33 and finished with $4,233.

Ian thought it was “self-evident”. He bet and lost his whole $10,000.

Greg got it right, too. He bet $4,001 and won the game with $20,001. Greg’s 3-day total is $74,602.
