WHAT IS “LA MARSEILLAISE”?
The French National Anthem, “La Marseillaise”, was composed in April 1792 by Army Captain Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle. Stationed at Strasbourg at the start of the War of the First Coalition, Rouget de Lisle fulfilled the city’s Mayor, Baron Philippe-Frédéric de Dietrich’s request for a marching song to rally French troops. “Chant de Guerre pour l’Armée du Rhin” was the composition’s original title. It became known as “La Marseillaise” after volunteers from Marseille sang it when they marched to Paris in December 1792. As for the Baron, he ran afoul of Robespierre in 1793 and was guillotined. The Baron’s reputation was rehabilitated after Robespierre’s fall in 1795, the same year “The Marseillaise” was made France’s official national anthem. More info.
Classical-music.com ranked “La Marseillaise” No. 3 on its Best National Anthems list and also said it is probably the most recognized anthem in the world.
Lydia didn’t bet a sou. Her score remained $400.
Max bet $9,000 and finished with $19,800.

All I have to say is darn those daily doubles to Lydia but Jamie survived a scare to become a 28 day champion. Had he missed Final, Max would have been the new champion.
