Final Jeopardy: 4-15-19 to 4-19-19

Here are the Final Jeopardy questions and answers for the week of April 15 through April 19, 2019.

Mon, Apr 15 – Correct answers: 2
STAMPS: Living people are rarely seen on a stamp, but in July 1945 the USPS issued one depicting this military event show

Tue, Apr 16 – Correct answers: 1 (out of 2 left)
INTERNATIONAL NEWS: In 2014 this 10,000-square-mile region moved its clocks forward 2 hours to Moscow Standard Time show

Wed, Apr 17 – Correct answers: 2
20TH CENTURY LITERARY CHARACTERS: His first name refers to the ancient district in which you’d find the Greek capital; his surname is a bird show

Thu, Apr 18 – Correct answers: 1
COMIC BOOK SUPERHEROES: During his years with the Justice League of America, this superhero sometimes used the secret identity “C. King” show

Fri, Apr 19 – Correct answers: 1
BRITISH MONARCHS: A “VI” has followed these 3 royal names of English kings show

Like last week, these FJs weren’t terribly difficult. Thursday’s and Friday’s were voted the most challenging to get in 30 seconds, with the comic book one taking top honors. Not everybody has what my father used to called “A funny book education.” (That’s a joke, okay?) Likewise, the VI kings was a matter of making 3 connections within the time limit and that was bound to trip someone up. The easiest was a toss-up between the clues on Monday and Tuesday.

Jeopardy! champs from April 15-19, 2019

James Holzhauer returned on Monday as a 7-day champ with a record winning $415,035. This week he more than doubled that, wrapping the week up with 12 games to his credit and $851,926 in winnings, just $148,074 shy of a cool million. Check out James Holzhauer’s Jeopardy Statistics for a quick look at his FJ and DD bets in all his games.

James’ record-breaking $131,127 has been added to the Top 15 Daily Payouts of Season 35. As noted before, that list only reflects a contestant’s highest payout, otherwise James would be dominating that list.

A week with no sweep despite the FJs not too difficult. Last week we had 2, one with 3 correct and 1 with 2 correct (2 players left).
