WHO IS AQUAMAN?

Aquaman appeared as “C. King” in DC’s Justice League of America Vol. 1 #27 (May 1964), “The “I” Who Defeated the Justice League!” After the JLA received a letter from “C. King” about a disappearing island, J’onn J’onzz sent Superman and Green Lantern to talk to him. Aquaman was disguising himself as a sailor to try to stop some smuggling activities. When the superheroes showed up, Aquaman wondered if they would recognize him (or at least “sea” through that flimsy alias!) If Superman and Green Lantern did, they didn’t let on.

Gregory thought it was Batman. That cost him $4,000 and left him with $4,200.

Samantha went with Superman. She lost $6,601, finishing with $3,199.

James got it right. He bet $26,308 bet so he won this game with $74,133. His 11-day total is $771,920. “Wow”, said Alex Trebek, “Wow indeed!”

Well, he put the GOOD on Good Friday because he only came up with the correct response and in 11 days, he amassed almost three-quarters of a million dollars. He will wrap up the Holy Week tomorrow to see if he will reach $800,000, or if he has the guts, $900,000. Anyway, one month from now and it’s the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, so I hope the decade will end with a bang, unlike dismal flops in 2013 and 2018.

      @John Christian Ambion
Good Friday is tomorrow. I guess you are past the date line and it’s already Friday for you? Still (Maundy) Thursday in the U.S. and Europe…. (18th) I hope it will be a good Friday tomorrow for him…In-cre-di-ble…..what he knows and how he plays. the other 2 players almost seem just to watch him!!🙂

      • John Christian Ambion says:

@John B./I. It’s Good Friday here in the Philippines.

That’s what I figured. You are even 6 hours behind Hawaii. Here its 17:40 Thu, already 11:40 on Fri for you.

          6 hrs behind plus 1 day= + 18 hours

  2. VJ says:

I was just looking at the Hall of Fame page on the Jeopardy! site and it is up to date as of yesterday. This win is gonna go on there too, right above Austin Rogers.

Just 3 more wins, and he’ll beat Matt Jackson’s 13-game run.

  3. William Weyser says:

The good news for James is that if he loses tomorrow, he does have enough money right now to possibly win the Tournament Of Champions, add the $250,000 grand prize, and become a millionaire, but my hunch is that he is going to make the $1,000,000, and get it himself without help from the Tournament Of Champions, and I’m gonna go with my hunch.

  4. Lou says:

I’m surprised that James knew aquaman.since there was a marvel movie that featured him not too long ago. The justice league movie also featured him. How did his opponents miss this? Have they even watched the animated series of justice league or maybe an episode of aquaman John and VJ? Anyway congrats once again to our gambler. He unleashed a hailstorm of correct responses today. I hope he will wrap up this week with another victory tomorrow

    • Phil says:

Not to be petty, Lou, but Aquaman is DC not Marvel. Might not matter to you, but for some people that’s like calling their mom sir, lol.

If you think it’s all over then the joke is on you
    It’s a dream
It’s a scene and it’s all brand new
If you think you can stop it then the joke is on you (x2)

We did it, we did it again (ah oh)

Raj from the Big Bang Theory says he doesn’t like Aquaman.

  7. John B./I. says:

This is getting like the daily weather forecast in HI: mostly sunny, partly cloudy, sometimes windward showers that may drift to the leeward side, high temperatures between 86 and 90 degrees, trade winds 10 to 15 mph…..
James got all 3 DDs, got them right, had a runaway, won a bundle.
Surprised though he knew Aquaman. Although, when you pronounce C.King it becomes kind of obvious. I wonder: what does he NOT know???? CONGRATS yet again!!!

    • VJ says:

No real surprise that he knew Aquaman — after his answer was revealed and Alex confirmed it, James thanked his wife “for bad movie night”
