Jon found the last Daily Double in “South American Places” under the $1,600 clue, with 5 clues left after it. In third place with $6,800, he had $4,200 less than MacKenzie’s lead. He bet $5,000 and tried the Playa del Oro. He didn’t put it in question form, but that was okay because it was WRONG.

MacKenzie finished in the lead with $10,600. Kimberly was next with $9,800. At $200 in the red, Jon was out of the game.

WHAT IS THE PALME D’OR?

The Palme d’Or trophy is “an emblem since 1998 crafted by Chopard.” In 1997, Pierre Viot, then director of the Cannes International Film Festival, invited Caroline Scheufele to redesign the Palme d’Or trophy which, for 50 years, was a gold plated palm leaf resting on a Plexiglas pyramid.
