TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS “THE FUGITIVE”?

“The Fugitive” TV series ran for 4 seasons from 1963 to 1967 with David Janssen in the title role (as Dr. Richard Kimble) and Barry Morse as his relentless pursuer (Lt. Philip Gerard). Convicted of killing his wife, Kimble escaped on the way to Death Row. “Reprieved by fate,” Kimble must find the one-armed man he believes is the real killer before Gerard finds him. The 1993 film of the same name starred Harrison Ford as Kimble and Tommy Lee Jones as Gerard. Out of 7 Oscar nominations, Tommy Lee Jones was the only winner.

The final episode of “The Fugitive” TV series (8/29/1967) held the record for the highest-rated episode in TV history until the 11/21/1980 “Who Shot J.R.?” episode of “Dallas” (which was really named “Who Done It?”).

Arielle got it right. She bet $6,399 to finish with $12,799.

Kristin also got it. She bet $18,199, bringing her up to $36,399.

Jack had “Men in Black.” He bet and lost it all. That made Kristin Robbins today’s winner and the new Jeopardy! champ. Whatta great payday!

Was there a question about tommy lee? I thought I heard his name but then got pulled away. It was towards the end of the 2nd round. Not sure what category.

    • VJ says:

It was the Final Jeopardy clue, Tina. It’s in the yellow box at the top of the page.

      P.S. Tommy Lee Jones

  2. John B. says:

And congrats to VJ, Jacob and Nell for a correct prediction.

  3. Louis says:

And the lady wins. So glad she bet big. But I can’t stand Jack’s voice. Sorry if this sounds offensive, but he obviously hasn’t watched that much Harrison Ford movies. I know Tommy Lee Jones was in men in black but that came out around the late 90s if I am not mistaken , right VJ? Plus how big of a role did Tommy Lee Jones play in the fugitive movies before he went into other action films?

    • VJ says:

Yes, Lou, Men in Black was late 90s. Well, Jack may have seen a lot of Harrison Ford films and just mixed up the years. I knew that Arielle was gonna get it from her chat story.

Tommy Lee was second billed in “The Fugitive” but it was a one-lead film. Kinda like when Tommy Lee was in “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and played Loretta Lynn’s husband, I guess.

  4. VJ says:

@Nell, I was watching the show with my granddaughter who is here on a visit. She lives less than half an hour from Red Bank, NJ so I said, let’s root for homegirl. 😀

I’m pretty sure that’s going on the Top 10 Season 34 payouts

  5. John B. says:

What a smart but VERY risky bet by Kristin!! Had Jack been right she would have lost by a buck. That would have been a major bummer.

  6. Nell says:

I’m always happy to see the lady lawyer win, and win big!😀

And while I know this will sound shallow, I’m glad to see Jack go. I couldn’t stand the sound of his voice.
