Mattea Roach Jeopardy Stats

Canadian tutor, Mattea Roach, showed up on the Jeopardy! stage for her first game on April 5, 2022. Almost two weeks earlier, she sent out this tweet:

As we now know, Mattea certainly succeeded and she very likely exceeded her own expectations, not to mention the Customs Agent who hoped she would do well.

After her 5th win on Monday, April 11, 2022, Mattea had a guaranteed spot in the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. By the end of the week, she had a little over double her take for the first week.

Mattea continued to win hearts and money in the third week of her run as she achieved superchamp status on Monday with her 10th win. (This is about the point where media outlets that generally don’t cover Jeopardy! start pumping out the click bait headlines, like Jeopardy Fans Are in Shock, Jeopardy Fans Are Outraged, etc, ad nauseam!) Mattea picked up another $100K+ in Week 3.

In her fifth week and final week, Mattea surpassed half a million on Tuesday, May 3rd by $6,584. She was defeated on Friday by Danielle Maurer, ending yet another memorable streak from Jeopardy!’s Season 38. As of May 5, 2022, at only 23 years old, Mattea Roach holds the Top 5 spot in the Jeopardy! Hall of Fame for consecutive games won in regular play and for most money won.
