It was a rough week for the contestants with 2 triple stumpers and one solve on Monday’s FJ! Monday’s clue was the easiest, and should have gone 3 out of 3. Of the two triple stumpers, Friday’s clue was easiest. I can understand the players not looking on the Indian Ocean side of Africa for that clue when the answer lost its coastline on the Red Sea. At least one of the contestants should have remembered this affair in American history.

Jeopardy! champs, week of February 22, 2021

Sam Stapleton returned on Monday and won a second game for a total of $50,301. He lost to Aaron Craig on Tuesday. Aaron won 2 games and $51,254 but lost on Thursday to Michael Colton. Michael won again on Friday for a 2-day total of $17,603. Obviously, Michael’s 2-day total came about as a result of no one getting Final Jeopardy in both of his games. Just like Aaron, Michael wasn’t in the lead going into Final Jeopardy! in either of his games. Aaron lost when he finally finished in the lead. We’ll have to wait till Monday to see if that happens to Michael!

This was a rough week for the leaders. Let’s see if next week will be a lot better for them. BTW, Friday’s clue was the hardest among the 2 Triple Stumpers, not the easiest.
