There were some wild all-or-nothing swings in the beginning of the week. Everyone got 2 final clues right but no one got the one in between. Monday’s had to be the week’s easiest. Only one person got Thursday’s clue and, on Friday, only 2 players made it to Final Jeopardy! and they both responded correctly. None of these clues seemed particularly difficult, although the triple stumper on Tuesday obviously was a problem for the panel.
Patrick Curran returned for Game 3 on Monday, but it was Connor Sears who won the game. Connor also won Tuesday’s game and had a 2-day total of $43,999. Then along came Yogesh Raut who won almost as much on Wednesday as Connor did altogether! We haven’t seen a $40K+ payday since Cris Pannullo nailed one on 11/29/22. Yogesh won on Thursday and Friday as well. He will return on Monday, sitting at the threshold of $100K. Of course, everyone wants to see Yogesh make the next ToC. Don’t they?

VJ, Thanks for this weekly recap. I noticed a couple of trends. First, the amount of winnings by Yogesh had a downward trend every game. He has not had a runaway game as of January 13th. As a matter of fact, he was trailing going into fj Friday. Being the only one correct on fj saved him. I am really curious to see what happens in his game Monday.
Second, speaking of games there were 2 triple solves this past week. There has been an abnormal upward trend in the frequency of triple solves over the past several weeks. This cluster of triple solves is a highly unusual activity in fj over the long run. Will this be a short-term trend or will it continue? Those of us on Spoiler Talk have always been hesitant to predict 3 correct because historically it has been such a rare occurrence. Again, thanks for this weekly recap it brings together a lot that took place over a period of 5 days in a succinct way.

I like to think of it as a lucky day, too. One of my grandkids was born on Friday the 13th. It was also Good Friday!
