Today’s show began with a beautiful tribute from Jeopardy’s executive producer, Mike Richards. As we’ve learned of Alex’s unexpected passing over the weekend, Mike describes this enormous loss and Alex’s true passion for Jeopardy. Alex’s legacy and constant desire to learn will never be forgotten. Alex finished filming his final episode just two weeks ago, his last day in the studio was October 29th. I’ll wager that Ken Jennings becomes the new host. He has been an Assistant Producer for a while and has done some of the categories, as he did tonight. I think they have been grooming him for the position of host, which is now needed.

Alec Trebek. May Peace be upon him. The handsome, well spoken host of Jeopardy has sadly succumbed to Cancer. I thoroughly enjoyed his delivery and carefully articulate enunciation, as well as his respectful posture, although my favorite Jeopardy host was his predecessor, Art Fleming who I habitually watched during my college days. They both were par excellent. I’m hopeful Alec’s successor is as capable in delivering the answers so intelligently, so lyrically comprehensible and articulate. It’s not as easy as it may seem. Beautifully spoken syntax is in short order in our society today.

Jeopardy is an excellent source of teaching our English language as a communication skill essential to intelligent comprehension. I only wish everyday vernacular wasn’t as impaired by colloquialisms and idiomatic jargon as it is.

Clue: “He was the gracious, legendary host of the Jeopardy game show for over 30 years”

Ben has made a great start to the week and a strong finish but still though jeopardy won’t be the same without Alex. He will forever be remembered as a legend. And wishing VJ a strong recovery as well. Let’s hope Ben can continue his streak. I think he could definitely set a record for large money won. Museums are my childhood places to visit.

  5. Nikki says:

Hi all! My mom’s procedure went well; however, her recovery time will be longer than expected. She thanks you for your prayers and support. It is possible she will return at the end of the week, though I don’t know if she will be able to do her recaps. If not, you’ll just be stuck with me.

After an average of over 20,000 win per day, we finally got the top payday of the season and that is Ben with $44,401. That is an excellent way to start off the week.
