Diana found the first Daily Double in “Pen Names” under the $800 clue, with 11 clues left after it. She was in the lead with $10,600 at this point, $1,400 more than Steve in second place. She bet $1,200 and thought it was Ian Fleming. That was WRONG.

3 clues later, Steve landed on the last Daily Double in “Greek Isles” under the $1,200 clue. In the lead with $10,000, he had $600 more than Diana in second place. He bet $3,000 and he was RIGHT.

WHAT IS THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE?

Emily Roebling was the daughter-in-law of John A. Roebling, original designer and Chief Engineer of the Brooklyn Bridge. He died in 1869 as a result of an accident at the construction site and Emily’s husband, Washington Roebling took over as Chief Engineer. When Washington became ill and bedridden in 1872, Emily made it possible for her husband to remain Chief Engineer: “Emily played pupil, secretary, messenger, and engineer throughout the remainder of the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge….     You’ll notice that had Kris gotten it right, which he did, he would have had $13,400, and had both Diana & Steve missed, Steve would have had $13,599, which means that if Kris wanted to wager to win by a dollar, if he got it right, and Steve missed, then, he came up $200 short. Bit of a miscalculation there.

    Another triple solve for today and although I do wish Kris had won more to rack up five wins. Congrats to everyone on getting this right. Let’s hope steve is lucky enough to win a few more games.

    In that candy category, Almond Joys are my favorite because I don’t like all that coconut in Mounds. Steve surely knew that answer but that little brain glitch cost him $1,000!
