It was another miserable week in Final Jeopardy. There were 3 triple stumpers, just like last week! I can only quibble with the wording of 2 of those stumpers. In my opinion, Tuesday’s medical clue would have garnered much better results with this: “When you open your eyes, you will remember that the brother of the Greek god Thanatos lent his name to this alternative medical practice.” If that makes it too easy, a little tinkering would make the brother the answer. Wednesday’s clue could have narrowed it down by indicating the northernmost town was in the same country as the capital. The other 2 clues only got one right response each so take your pick on the easiest. For me, it was POETS.
This week’s winners:
Mon 6/08/26 $31,201 Peter McFerrin
Tue 6/09/26 $2,193 Dan Laine
Wed 6/10/26 $3,400 Katelyn Mueller-McLean
Thu 6/11/26 $13,500 Matt Wheeler
Fri 6/12/26 $20,000 Adam Remsen
5x champ Peter McFerrin returned on Monday and had his second best payday with $31,201. That was great for Peter, and icing on his cake, as it turned out. Peter’s run ended at 6 games when he lost to Dan Laine on Tuesday. Pitiful as it may seem, the triple stumpers wreaked havoc in the last round, and the total amount of money won the rest of the week was $39,093, only $7,892 more than Peter made on Monday! Adam Remsen had the second best payday on Friday and there’s hope on the horizon that he will turn the tide of one-day champs.
Jeopardy! paid out $70,294 to the winners this week. The usual $25K in consolation prizes was split up every day: $3,000 for second place and $2,000 for third place.
Here are the back-to-back Daily Doubles from Monday’s game, including the lead changes between Alejandro and Peter.
