WHAT IS DELAWARE?

On Whyy.org, two major reasons are given as to why Delaware dominates the incorporation business: “One reason is the bi-partisan political consensus in Delaware to keep the Delaware corporation statute modern and up-to-date, and to rely on Delaware’s corporate law specialists for advice in how to do this”; and secondly, because “Delaware has a special court, the Court of Chancery, to rule on corporate law disputes without juries. Corporate cases do not get stuck on dockets behind the multitude of non-corporate cases.”

Indeed, in this 2019 article, “Best States to Incorporate a Business”, Delaware is only listed as one of the states with the best legal system for corporations (along with Nevada and Wyoming). Delaware does not rank in the Top 3 for formation fees, annual filing fees or taxes.

Linda thought it was Texas. She lost her $1,000 bet and finished with $400.

Susan went with New York. That cost her everything but $1.00.

Chuck got it right. He didn’t bet anything so he won the game with $12,800. That brought him up to a 5-day total of $72,800. That gained him entry into the next Tournament of Champions but finished his regular play as 5 wins was the limit for Jeopardy! champs back then.

Happy Birthday🎂 indeed of the GOATs (GREATEST OF ALL TIME) game show hosts

Chuck was a skilled player with five wins. And thanks to his strategic playing, everyone else followed his advice or some tried it and were unable to string together four or more wins as that won’t always work. Still though great game played so far. When did the number of game wins increase in jeopardy, VJ?

    • VJ says:

Well, he wasn’t the first 5-day winner, Lou. The record he set was for most money won up till then. $72,800. That was on a board with clues half the value that they are now. They doubled the clue values sometime in 2001 and they eliminated the 5-game limit in 2003

and that made quite a difference. with the five day limit you had new players against each other every few days. it is a huge advantage to have already played. plus, without having to wait for the blue lights to come on after Alex finishes the question, you could gamble on the early questions and just ring right in and figure out the answer while Alex was still reading it.
