TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS THE HOUSE UN-AMERICAN ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE (HUAC)?

On the Truman Library site: “HUAC was created in 1938 to investigate alleged disloyalty and rebel activities on the part of private citizens, public employees and organizations suspected of having Communist ties. Citizens suspected of having ties to the communist party would be tried in a court of law. Also during this time, Senator Joseph McCarthy began a campaign against alleged communists in the U.S. government and other institutions.” Although McCarthy was a Senator and not part of the House Committee, the two became notorious in the early 1950s, when people were blacklisted and denied work, even if the evidence against them was flimsy. McCarthy’s downfall began when he accused the Army of being infiltrated with Communists.

The HUAC continued operations until 1969 when the committee was renamed the Internal Security Committee. It was abolished altogether on January 14, 1975.

Kiran missed it by one word. He opted to write it out and had Commission instead of Committee. He lost $800 and finished with $4,800.

Holly got it right with just the acronym.. She bet it all and doubled her score to $16,000.

Suzanne also got it right with the acronym. She bet $1,000 and won the game with $18,700. Suzanne Goldlust is the new Jeopardy! champ.

Kiran was so close to getting a correct final response. Hahaha.
He should’ve written down the abbreviation for the correct response.
