Notes

1. Alex Jacob’s FJ results may look abysmal but we believe he didn’t even try to solve FJ in several games when he had a runaway.

2. Scott’s spelling of Scheherazade (Scherazade) didn’t pass muster with the judges. That didn’t sit well with some folks.

3. Kristin was the last player standing in this match. It was one of her FJ misses.

4. Michael Bilow finished in the hole on his last game and didn’t play Final Jeopardy!

*We did not include the Teachers Tournament Winner, Jennifer Giles, in the table but she will be in the TOC. Unlike 3x champs who played 4 games and lost on their 4th game, she won the tournament on her last match. In her quarter-final and semi-final, she was the only one who got FJ. In the second final, no one got FJ so she was 3/4.

We also did not put Darren Harris-Fain in the table because we thought that he got bumped when Matt Jackson qualified. He is still on Jeopardy’s TOC Tracker (as of 10/23/15), but it has not been updated — it still lists Matt as a current contestant. Darren got 2 out of 4 FJs.

  1. Dalton Higbee says:

I pick Andrew Haringer as my favorite contestant for this season’s Tournament of Champions, but I hope he, Matt Jackson, Greg Seroka, Dan Feitel and Kristin Sausville as my five favorites to win it all and win the Tournament of Champions.

  2. Dalton Higbee says:

I hope Sean Anderson doesn’t make to the Tournament of Champions, so it stays the same.

  3. Richard Corliss says:

I pick Kristin VJ & Leena

    • VJ says:

and I respect your choice, Richard, even though I personally think there would have to be a heck of a blowup for her to win.

Later this week, I will have the runaway game count, but I can tell you Kristin’s now. Two, which includes the game where she was the only one left in FJ. That doesn’t compare favorably to Alex Jacob, nevermind Matt.

  4. Dalton Higbee says:

I didn’t want Matt Jackson to lose prior to this year’s Tournament of Champions.

    • Richard Corliss says:

Don’t give us that Dalton Higbee! Matt kept beating his opponents over and over until he lost his 14th game and he can’t help it ringing in! Kristin Sausville is going to win $250,000 for her husband Justin who went on the show before! Celeste DiNucci did the same thing for her brother Dennis after losing to Jerome Vered! So Kristin is going to win!

  5. Marilyn Ahrenhoerster says:

Catherine Hardee won her 4 games in Sept. 2014 before the TOC in Nov. 2014. Only those who won five or more games, Teacher champ and two
College champs qualified. Those 15 were all they needed. So no four-day winners were in the tournament. Why does Catherine get another chance? I have nothing against her, but she is bumping someone else out.

    • VJ says:

idk Marilyn. I’m just going by Jeopardy’s TOC Tracker. Maybe they decided to go this way because the Battle of the Decades changed when the 2014 TOC aired.

      • Marilyn Ahrenhoerster says:

        That’s a possibility.

        • Jeff Xie says:

Also, keep in mind that technically the producers can decide to pick anyone they want (technically, even Matt Jackson isn’t “guaranteed” a spot); therefore, they could have thought that Catherine’s run was near enough to the 2014 TOC, plus the fact that Catherine was likeable, at least I’m assuming to the producers, to warrant her inclusion.

        • Eric S says:

They should have the most recent Teen champion appear.

    • Richard Corliss says:

Mark Japinga who defeated Ben Ingram in his first game he was in the tournament of champions and he was the only four day winner in the tournament Jerry Slowik wasn’t there cause he was charged with sexual abuses.

  6. Eric S says:

Alex: poker player, Twitter follower: great luck!
Jennifer: wicked smart also: greatest luck! (Teachers deserve the money).
