Has anybody taken the Anytime online Jeopardy test? I’m curious as I plan on taking the test in a few weeks.

Wakefield School in The Plains, VA is very proud! Go Juliet! What a thrill to see you competing and winning. We will all be tuned in for the next session.

  3. Rick says:

That was a tough finale, but an otherwise fairly typical game.

  4. Jacob Ska says:

Interesting that a contestant named Juliet would get a Shakespeare work correct. I loved it.

Happy Mother’s Day VJ and Rhonda.

    • rhonda says:

Thanks so much for the Mother’s Day wishes, Jacob!
It will be a much better one this year, thank goodness!

  5. Michael says:

I looked on google for “black sheep black sheep” as a possible correct response in today’s game, but I could not find any reference to this phrase. Why then was it deemed a correct response?

    • VJ says:

Black sheep, black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes, my little master, three bags full

From Mother Goose in Prose by L. Frank Baum:

    • Rick says:

The judges were clearly wrong here as it should have been: “Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?”

      • VJ says:

Rick, the judges were not wrong to credit Juliet’s answer. I posted the link to that “black sheep, black sheep” version. That’s all they had to see. Also, Jamie got credit for the “Baa, baa” response after Juliet’s was rejected.

        Thanks, Jacob and Howard.

        • Rick says:

No, Rudyard Kipling originally wrote the short story in 1888, and he included the lyrics: “Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?”

        • VJ says:

idk what you don’t get about the ruling, Rick, but here’s the last thing I’ve got to say — here’s the clue: “In a children’s rhyme, these 4 words precede “Have you any wool?” No mention of Rudyard Kipling or original version. Just “children’s rhyme” and it’s quite common for there to be several versions of children’s rhymes, regardless of what the most popular one is.

In any event, as I also said before, it was a $200 clue. It didn’t make or break anyone.

    • Larry says:

I feel the same way. No where did I find black sheep black sheep to be correct.

  6. Dal Higbee says:

The last few months have been terrible, but hopefully it’ll get better with the Tournament of Champions.

    • VJ says:

In what way have they been terrible? I really don’t know what some of you guys expect. A great game every day is just never going to happen.

For myself, I judge how good the game was by the number of triple stumpers, with the average number being 7. Today was a good game with only 5 stumpers. Yesterday wasn’t a good game (16).

      • Howard says:

Agreed. Thursday’s show was dreadful. Tonight those sharp ladies left little on the table. The Monk in the Garden was kind of a gimme, but Sarah just couldn’t come up with it. Some of the other stumpers were a little surprising, but otherwise they were excellent. Juliet deserved her win after a tough Final. She was impressive all the way through.

Happy Mother’s Day, VJ. You do such a fine job.

      • Dal Higbee says:

We haven’t had a 4-time champion since John Focht won 4 games in February.

    • Rick says:

How so? The Tournament of Champions is normally the toughest of the games.

      • Dal Higbee says:

The Tournament of Champions is the most exciting and are not bad.

        • Richard Corliss says:

It’s gonna be bad. Because Jason is easily gonna win.

        • Quinn says:

Richard you never know David Madden won 19 games and did not win the TOC neither did Julia Collins

  7. Lou says:

I am happy to see that the reversal has helped juliet on her big win. since that daily double didn’t pay off for Sara today juliet, had dominated the game so far. Let’s hope she can sweep up next week before the tournament of champions. So far we have had a three time champ and the dry spell continues plus a dismissal. It’s been a challenging week to the start of may. Let’s hope next week will be better. Wishing you a happy mother’s day VJ!

    • VJ says:

All Juliet gained off that reversal was $200, Lou.

Thanks for the Mother’s Day wishes
