Celtics Beat Cavaliers to Advance to NBA Eastern Conference Finals
The Boston Celtics finished the regular season with the best record in the NBA and showed why with a 113-98 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on May 15th. With the win, Boston won the second round playoff series 4-1 over Cleveland. The Celtics also beat the Miami Heat 4-1 in the first round of the playoffs.
Jayson Tatum scored 25 points and had 10 rebounds for Boston, while Al Horford scored 22 with 15 rebounds. Evan Mobley scored 33 for Cleveland. The Cavaliers were without Donovan Mitchell for the second straight game. Mitchell, who averaged 29.6 points in the post season, was out with a calf strain.
Boston advances to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third straight season. The Celtics await the winner of the Indiana Pacers—New York Knicks series.
