And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” BibleTools.org says this list of Bible verses from “Forerunner Commentary” pertains to the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, if you’re interested in reading it.

    Well, he’s done it. He now tied with Julia Collins, and one more win to overtake her. With two regular games left until the Teachers’ Tournament, James will DEFINITELY win before he took on a two-week break. How ironic, to see the FJ! category is appropriate for him, “King James”.

    Yeah, King James. He can’t be stopped. Alex Trebek, I think I might disagree that he will never get to 74 games. Oh, wait, I am because if that happens, Good Lord. I smell another UToC coming up.

    General Mills would have been negbait for General Foods. General Foods hasn’t existed as a standalone company since 1990, and they were then called Kraft General Foods for a few years, and General Foods’ name continued on the labels of their International Coffees for a bit longer.

  3. Lou says:

    Looks like Julia Collins will be proud of James for getting this far in the game. Two more days till the teacher’s tournament. James must survive two more games if He is going to get up to brad Rutter. Glad that all the contestants got final right. The daily doubles worked in James’s favor today. VJ, do you think James could get to 2 million after the teacher’s tournament?

    • VJ says:

      Here’s what I’m betting on:

      $50 that he goes over 2 million and $50 that he does not beat Ken Jennings’ 74 games.

      (That’s Monopoly money)

    Well, what can you say? The DDs wre all his again, answered correctly and the obvious outcome. Phil mentioned the quote from an episode of the “Wesr Wing” between Bartlett (M.Sheen) and Lord Marbury (R. Rees) that came to my mind as well, where “Death” was mentioned. Plus, my 5-12 grade was at a school run by Augustine priests from the cathedral and monastery in Klosterneuburg/Vienna and I am R.C. : “..behold I saw a pale horse, and the name who sat on him was Death and hell followed him…( W.W., nuclear crisis between India and Pakistan) Congrats to James, now he has a chance to get the # 2 spot all by his lonesome and the 2 other players are extras again. Adam was apparently an exception.

      @aaaa
      Kind of increases my doubts just a tiny bit about everything being 100% “random”….things have happened over the decades at J! that seem very,very “over-random”. But w/o proof….
      they say a secret is only a secret when no more than 2 people know it and one is dead……..

        That is because you are from Europe. Games shows, especially Jeopardy, are above reproach. Jeopardy has the highest standards of integrity, unlike game shows in Europe.

        • John B./I. says:

          @Albert
          What game show in Europe is not above reproach? And I guess you “forgot” the scandal about the “64 K dollar question”……??
