Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHAT IS AN EAR BANDAGE?
Vincent Van Gogh’s January 1889 self-portrait shows him wearing a bandage over where his right ear should have been had he not cut it off the previous month.
President Donald Trump suffered an ear injury on July 13, 2024, from a would-be assassin’s bullet. He was wearing a bandage when the Republican National Convention began 2 days later and some attendees chose to do likewise as a gesture of solidarity.
Sara got it right. She bet $1,500 and finished with $4,500.
Kyle didn’t have a response. He bet and lost his whole $9,200.
Liam went with an elephant. He lost $5,000 but won the game with the remaining $19,400. Liam’s 3-day total is $72,202.
2 triple stumpers from MUSIC ON TV:
($1200) On “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, this Vulcan, Spock’s father, is brought to tears by a Brahms chamber piece
($2000) As “Hannibal”, this actor plays a bit of the “Goldberg” variations, also heard in “The Silence of the Lambs”
2 years ago: NONE of the players got this FJ in “TV HISTORY”
The 1980s “Magnum, P.I.” used a soundstage of this long-running drama that had just ended, & even referred to its lead character show

Unable to watch this week, so recap for me. Very surprised all 3 didn’t nail FJ; I thought it was one of the easiest ones in a long time. Coincidentally, I saw a Van Gogh self-portrait yesterday afternoon at the Art Institute of Chicago, but not one with a missing ear. Also hit all three DDs and the Olympic event.
Longfellow’s middle name was Wadsworth, not Wordsworth. Also, re first DD, how did Liam’s $5800 = $6400 more than Sara in 2nd place?
2/3 on DD but missed FJ. Came up blank.
Drew, c’mon man, “afterbirth”??
And Liam had to look the LEAST excited of any winner, ever.
Another runaway for Liam as he remained the champion. As for me, I did about average in the game, and went with ‘wig’ for FJ.
I thought the three daily doubles were pretty easy, had no idea on the final.
One of my son’s nicknames is Sonnyboy so naturally, I thought of him. Then, he called me up just a little while ago and I read him that DD. He knew it too.
