Final Jeopardy: Historic Groups

The Final Jeopardy question (4/21/2014), in the category “Historic Groups” was:

2x champ Frédérique Delaprée has winnings so far of $20,800. In her third game, she takes on these two players: Kris Voss, from Durham, NC; and Julia Collins , from Kenilworth, IL.

Round 1: Frédérique found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “The Captain” under the $600 clue. She was in second place with $1,400, $400 behind Julia’s lead. She bet $500 and thought it was Nicaragua. That was WRONG.

Frédérique finished in the lead with $3,900. Julia was second with $1,600 and Kris was last with $800.

Round 2: Kris found the first Daily Double in “Man Candy” under the $2,000 clue. He was in third place with $2,400, $3,500 less than Frédérique’s lead. He bet $2,000 and could only come up with “Hey, Baby.” That was WRONG.

This candy bar was named for what girls said to the boy who came to the candy factory to flirt with them. show

Frédérique found the last Daily Double in “The National Park System” under the $1,600 clue. She was in the lead with $6,300, $300 more than Julia in second place. She bet $1,500 and she was RIGHT.

Julia finished in the lead with $8,000. Frédérique was next with $7,800 and Kris was in third place with $5,200.

HANSA-PARK has gradually been building a huge theme world keyed to the topic “HANSEATIC LEAGUE in EUROPE”. In the history of of the League on their website, they say: “The historical Hanseatic League’s last council meeting, or Hanseatic Diet, took place in Lübeck in 1669.” (Hansa Park)

In 1980, former Hanseatic League members established a new “Hansa.” This league is open to all former Hanseatic League members and cities that once hosted a Hanseatic kontor. The headquarters of the new Hansa is in Lübeck, Germany. Die Hanse (in English)

Kris wrote down “The Cities” then some illegible stuff. He lost $3,000 and finished with $2,200.

Frédérique got it right and bet $7,300. She finished with $15,100.

Julia also got it right and bet $7,605 so she won the game with $15,605.
