WHO IS WALT DISNEY?

The above video is set to start at the point where Walt Disney announced his EPCOT plans. EPCOT was to be an experimental prototype community of tomorrow that, in Disney’s own words, “will always be a showcase to the world for the ingenuity and imagination of American free enterprise.” The film was made on October 27, 1966. In the next two months, Disney was diagnosed with lung cancer (November 30th) and he passed away on December 15th. Plans for EPCOT were abandoned, as Walt’s brother Roy took over the company and continued work on other projects. Walt Disney World in Florida opened in 1971. The EPCOT vision was reimagined as a theme park which eventually opened in 1982 as a part of Disney World.

Rachel bet $1,201 and finished with $11,401.

P.J. bet $10,600 and finished with $22,000.

Robbi bet $1,400 and won the game with $23,800. Robbi Ramirez is the new Jeopardy! champ.

Good group, but Robbi was too tough in the long run. I didn’t see Rachel as a multiple winner, but you just never know. I haven’t totally forgiven this crew for not knowing Maine’s tree, the Hawaiian volcano, the prehistoric humans, or the tiny lobsters.

FJ answer came to me halfway through, but really didn’t know. Robbi being from Orlando was serendipitous and was potentially embarrassing if he’d missed it and lost.

PJ’s puny late DD wager was barely enough to prevent an eventual runaway, although there were still a few clues left that could have resulted in one. His FJ seemed odd at first, but his $10600 wager was designed to win by $1 or more if he got FJ right and Robbi bet at least the anticipated $401.

That Final was waaaaaaaay too easy. I think at least 90% of Jeopardy players would have correctly answered that Final.

  3. Collin says:

Is this a runaway game? Looks like I think it will.

All 3 Daily Doubles & Final Jeopardy responses are all correct. That means it’s a winning show.
