WHO IS FRED ROGERS / MISTER ROGERS?

Variety has a list of the Daytime Emmy Awards’ Most Memorable Moments. There are 15 on their list and our own Alex Trebek is No. 15 for his 2019 Best Game Show host win. Fred Rogers’ 1997 Lifetime Achievement Award win is No. 1 on the list. Mister Rogers’ humility is apparently what made this so memorable: “Always one to put others ahead of himself, Rogers yielded some of his time to allow the audience a moment of silence to think about the people who have helped them along their journeys, taking his message of “looking for the helpers” off the screen of his show and into a practice in his real life.” Pat Sajak won Best Game Show Host that year.

JoBeth didn’t have an answer. She bet $901 and finished with $7,499.

Scott chose to joke with guest host, Aaron Rodgers, writing “Who wanted to kick that field goal?” That’s already going viral as Aaron predicted in an ESPN article (as well as letting readers know that Scott got FJ! wrong ahead of the game!) Scott bet nothing so he stayed at $9,300.

Brandon got it right. He bet $924 and won the game with $23,224. Brandon Deutsch is the new Jeopardy! champion.

Just realized: Aaron Rodgers. Mr Rogers.

Just Jeopardy clue writers trying to be clever. I was expecting a reaction from Aaron but he didn’t have one. Probably hit him later after the show.

I think Scott is the second person to joke with a guest host. (Brian Chang being the first with Ken Jennings)

Since my knowledge of football doesn’t go too much further than Joe Montana and Joe Namath, could someone please explain Scott’s answer to me? I don’t even know which team Aaron Rogers plays for but I do know that he’s engaged to Shailene Woodley.

When green bay played tampa bay in january rodgers green bay team was down by 8 points near the end of the game. Rodgers coach called for a field goal which gained green bay only 3 points but green bay needed a touchdown in order to tie the game. After the field goal tampa got the ball back, ran out the clock, and won the game.

It was soooooo obvious from rodgers response that he thought his coachs decision to kick the field goal was an idiotic decision. Every football fan thinks kicking the field goal rather than going for the touchdown was a horrible decision. That decision cost green bay and rogers a trip to the super bowl.

All is not well that doesnt end well.

speaking of Broadway Joe, I mistakenly thought him and his Medicare commercial would go away at the end of March but my daughter told me they run those commercials all year! I particularly can’t stand the way he says “and home delivered meals” (gag)

It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood a beautiful day for a neighbor. Won’t you be mine, could you be mine? One of my favorite lines from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. I used to watch his show when I was younger on PBS, but my favorite will always be Arthur. As you mentioned VJ, your kids watched a lot of stuff on PBS previously like Arthur right? The other shows that used to be there are Gerbert, Noddy, Kratt’s creatures and so forth. Also Scott’s response was pretty funny I tell you. Still I will love to see how well Aaron guest hosts on Jeopardy. Congrats to Brandon on his win today

    • VJ says:

Actually I said the only PBS show I remember them watching was Arthur. They used to watch Nickelodeon and superhero stuff like He-Man and She-Ra.

Just curious, but the times that I post comments are 1 hour behind my time. For example (5:07 p.m., but it says 4:07 p.m.) Do you guys know why?

    • Jacob Ska says:

Same here Jeopardy lover. I’m on the east coast which is one hour ahead of Houston, Texas where Fikkle Fame headquarters is located. For example it’s 5:18 p.m. here now. Are you on the east coast?

    • VJ says:

Yes, the blog can only be on one time zone. This one’s on Central time

    • JP says:

As someone who works in web development, I can say that time zones are a real pain in computer programming. And Daylight Saving Time compounds the issue as well.

An interesting bit of trivia: In addition to having the only non-rectangular flag, Nepal is the only country with a time zone having a 45 minute offset from GMT (the time in Greenwich, from which all other times zones are based). Central Daylight Time is -5:00 from GMT, Nepal is +5:45.
