The Final Jeopardy question (3/12/2026) in the category “21st Century Women” was:

4x champ James Denison, a college prof. & museum curator orig. from Alexandria, VA, is up to $99,400 now. Today might be the day he finally cracks the $100K mark, or it might the day one of these players sends him home: Luke Henson, a grocer from East Moline, IL; and Lydia Cawley, a director of product from Arlington, VA.

Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHO IS CAITLIN CLARK?

February 22, 2024 was declared Caitlin Clark Day after the Iowa House of Representatives approved House Resolution No. 110 to honor Clark’s many contributions and accomplishments in women’s basketball. The resolution has a lengthy list of WHEREAS clauses mentioning records she set as well as records she broke on her way to “becoming the most prolific scorer in NCAA women’s basketball history with a total of 3,569 career points”….

The 22nd was chosen as a salute of sorts to her jersey number, which was retired almost a year later. By the way, Clark was born on January 22nd, 2002. I don’t know whether to call that prophetic or coincidence.

Lydia came up with Gauff. She lost $27 and finished with $1,173.

Luke got it right. He bet $8,398 and finished with $16,798.

James thought it might be Collins. He lost $5,999 and finished with $8,401. That made Luke Henson the new Jeopardy! champ and we’ll see Luke tomorrow and, hopefully, you too.

Not a great game, too many misses and blank stares. Several lame-o answers: “Hello, Mary” in the Entertainment by the Numbers category; Tess of the d’Urbervilles in the Barry category (and not a Thackeray work, to boot); and Mekong in the “I” category.

I thought all 3 DDs were pretty easy and I got Final in about 10 seconds. Tough one if you’re not big into sports.

“More clues on page 2” link didn’t work. The numeral 2 did.

Barely got the Barry CEO clue in time. Figured someone would know the warming dish. I’m pretty sure the “Go” clue was not a stumper; Luke nailed it.

    • VJ says:

I knew the warming dish and I’d bet the farm the chef from the other day knew it too 😆

      I fixed those snafus.

  2. Marilyn Ahrenhoerster says:

Why did Ken say James would be back for tournament of champions?

    • VJ says:

Ken said ‘very likely,” Marilyn. If they don’t have enough 5x winners for the ToC, James will probably be at the top of the 4x winners in terms of money won. It sure looks like hell get in.

  3. VJ says:

Ryan O’Neal is probably rolling over in his grave at the suggestion that he played the title role in “Tess of the D’Urbvervilles” 🤣🤣🤣 (by Thomas Hardy, by the way).

I was kind of hoping Luke would win with his cute orange bowtie. Congrats, Luke!
