WHAT ARE THE FEDERALIST PAPERS?

The Federalist Papers are a series of 85 letter or essays, all addressed to the People of New York. They were written by James Madison, John Jay and (mostly) Alexander Hamilton in support of ratifying the proposed U.S. Constitution and were published in New York newspapers from 1787 to 1788.

The quote in the clue comes from the 85th letter (the “Concluding Remarks”). It says the only two points left to discuss are “the analogy of the proposed government to your own State constitution,” and “the additional security which its adoption will afford to republican government, to liberty, and to property.” Then it says that the topics have already been “fully anticipated and exhausted” that it would be repetitious to do so. Andrew got it right. He bet it all and doubled his score to $7,200.

Kelly thought it was the Madison Papers. That cost her $1,799. She finished in second place with $7,201.

Amy also got it right. She bet a whopping $18,000 and won today’s game with $56,000. Her 17-day total is $687,400.

Amy has close to 700K which is more than what Larissa had in her games. At this point I can say with certainty that Amy will be our new julia collins. Kelly was close with her response, but still I had learned about the federalist papers in US history class previously. All the daily doubles nailed by Amy shows she is making a comeback after not getting final right yesterday. This season we have two big winners which is Matt Amodio and Amy Schneider. It will be interesting to see them face off in the toc later on. If this keeps up we could get more streakers next year after last year’s slow start in jeopardy.
