Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS 3M?

Audrey Sherman has worked with 3M since joining their pre-college STEM program as a high school junior. She was much in the news earlier this year as “the only female inventor in 3M’s 116-year history to hold over 100 patents.” In an interview with ThriveGlobal.com, Sherman says: “By my sophomore year in college I had interned with 3M for four years…. and in one lab experiment our tests weren’t producing the results we expected. I suggested a new way and my boss said, ‘Write that down.’ It wound up being the key to getting our process to work, and we filed for the patent.” This was the impetus that inspired her to average 5 patents per year for the next 26 years.

Justia has 16 pages of patents that Audrey Sherman contributed to. The first was granted in 1992 and the last on the list in 2019.

Peggah thought it was the Mayo Clinic. That cost her $313 and left her with $787.

Dave got it right. He bet $3,000 and brought his score up to $9,000.

Eric came up with Dupont. He lost $4,000 but won the game with the remaining $17,000. Eric Smith is the new Jeopardy! champ.

Eric was pretty good today despite not getting final. I can see him building up his wins and break the curse. Peggah couldn’t get anything going. What was she thinking with the mayo clinic, VJ? I am sure that place does not have the 3M patent. I hope we can still catch up on the missed game last night as well after the preempted run.
