Trying to figure out Greg’s FJ wager of $2400. All I can think of is that he was anticipating Doug (with $15100) betting zero, and he (Greg) missing it and falling to $15200. As it played out, Doug’s $5K bet would have won the game, had he been correct. One could argue that Doug should have bet it all and Greg should have wagered $12601.

Thank. you nikki for doing the jeopardy recaps while your mom is recuperating. Sending her well wishes! Give your mom my regards!

I believe the Jeopardy executives already know that Ken Jennings will be the new host, but the executives are not making an announcement yet out of respect for Trebek. I really hope Jennings or Buzzy Cohen will be the new host. I just hope the new host is a person born and raised in the United States. I don’t want the show to continue to be unfairly weighted towards France and French words & phrases.

I also hope the new host stops correcting any so-called mispronunciations by the players. I consider that behavior by Trebek to be arrogant, rude, and disrespectful. After all, there is more than one way to pronounce words. For example, once Trebek praised a player for his/her pronunciation of ‘Qatar’. That was arrogant of Trebek because once on CNN I saw a person born and raised in the Middle East state that there are a number of different correct pronunciations of ‘Qatar’.

Nikki thanks for a great write-up. Give your mom my regards and best wishes for a good recovery but not to try to rush things.

Thanks once again, NIkki, for another great recap! You are such a good daughter!

  7. Lou says:

Mammograms are very helpful to screen people for cancers and other diseases. Although ct scans are helpful they didn’t have any anniversaries yet. Still congrats to Greg on his win. I hope he can break this one day curse and hopefully build a streak. Daniela couldn’t build much rhythm but it was a great game. How many of you guys with parents have done mammograms or ct scans previously or the past few years?

  8. Kevin Cheng says:

VJ, what was the reversal that cost Greg 4,000 when he mispronounced the clue.

    • JP says:

j-archive says that his initial pronunciation was ‘Cacausus’, which was later deemed too far from the correct pronunciation of ‘Caucasus’.

    • JJ says:

Hi Kevin – As a FYI, VJ had a medical procedure performed late last week, so she’s temporarily “out of pocket”. She should be back doing her thing early next week, if not before. In the meantime, her daughter has been providing us with the daily posts and other pertinent information. Please keep checking Fikkle Fame for updates re: VJ’s return as well as the late afternoon J!
