I’m trying to find the question/answer tonight that was about poets diminishing stars – something like that. Did anyone catch it? Can’t remember category or round.

    • VJ says:

@LL, it was in the first round in the * (footnote) category:

($400) A footnote in Richard Feynman’s Caltech lectures scolds these versifiers who say science reduces the stars’ beauty

  2. Anne says:

I couldn’t tell if Audrey was joking when she asked if she could change her bet. Maybe. It was funny though.

    • VJ says:

Hi, Anne, I couldn’t tell either, but if she was, her deadpan expression was terrific.

Alex Trebek has a great deadpan expression sometimes when he makes a joke, too, but still, there’s a twinkle in his eye 🤣

    • Albert says:

It was a joke. The joke would have been even funnier if she asked whether she could move to Wheel of Fortune 😁😁😁.

  3. Richard Corliss says:

I smell something. It smells like… BLUE CHEESE!!!!

  4. Lou says:

This game didn’t give Michelle much of a chance to nail other daily doubles. Audrey is dismissed and the second contestant eliminated early since Rachel Lin from 2016 and Priscilla Drobes. Congrats to Michelle on her second win. So we wrapped up this week with a couple of double solves and o be triple stumper. If my memory serves me correctly, this reminded me of seth Wilson’s second game, VJ where one of his opponents had a tough time with the daily doubles. Is camembert cheese still sold in supermarket today?

    • VJ says:

I don’t know, Lou. My tastes in cheese are very simple and I don’t think I’d want to try a sample of cheese that smells like cabbage even if they were handing them out free at the supermarket.

What was up with that cruise line clue? — “operated by a company with a “C” name” — leading me to say Cunard and then the answer is two words with the initials R.C. 🙄

  5. Richard Corliss says:

This game had its ups and downs. Darn those Daily Doubles. That was a costly miss for Audrey. But this was really Michelle’s game she just took it away from her & Matthew.

    • Howard says:

Intentionally or not, Michelle allowed the other two to self-destruct while answering a fair share of the questions. Those of us in the Pacific NW are more familiar with Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce tribe than most others would be. But WAY too many stumpers tonight, once again. I managed to know 5 of them.

      • VJ says:

Hi Howard. I knew a bunch of them today. My sports knowledge is pretty skimpy but I knew James Harden thanks to Mark’s basketball posts and Papa John’s specials in Houston when his team wins 🙂

I didn’t count Mayan city landmark — I know it from prior J! clues but I would never ring in on it for fear of mispronouncing it and losing $$

Could not believe nobody got the adjective for the space probe on the rebound!!
