Barbara Walter Apologizes to Katy Perry

After revealing the real reason for being late to an interview with Barbara Walters a couple of years ago, the veteran celebrity interviewer apologized to Katy Perry for the lecture she gave her.

At the time, Perry was experiencing the breakdown of her marriage with Russell Brand. Perry told Billboard: “I shouldn’t have done the interview: I was playing Madison Square Garden that same night, and I knew that the end of my marriage was coming. I was just exhausted and stressed.”

Perry explained that she tried to let everyone know she was running late, and apologized to Walters when she got there. Walters apparently didn’t get the memo and arrived at the original time anyway. Walters told Perry that the only other person she had waited that long for was Judy Garland. “You know how she turned out, right?,” The View host snapped.

Upon hearing this revelation, Walters sent this message: “Katy, if I made you feel at all unhappy, during a time when you were obviously unhappy, and I didn’t know, I’m sorry. But you can’t always know!”

Awww! That is so nice.
