Taylor Swift Has Best-Selling Album for 2014

Superstar Taylor Swift has a brand new record to add to her many achievements. Holiday sales of her latest album managed to exceed those of the Disney movie “Frozen” during the very last charting week of 2014, and Swift’s “1989” emerged as the best-selling album of 2014.

This is quite a feat when you consider that “1989” was released in October 2014, while “Frozen” has been around almost a year longer.

“1989” also had the biggest single week sales in 2014. In its first week out, the album sold 1.287 million copies. This is the second time that Taylor Swift has scored the best-selling album of the year. Her album “Fearless” was the top seller of 2009.

Swift’s “1989 World Tour” will kick off in Japan in May. She will be all over the globe between then and Halloween.

Here are some youtube numbers on the top songs from “1989” as of today’s date, January 5th. The youtube channel is in parenthesis.
