The English Patient: 1996 Best Picture

Out of 12 nominations, “The English Patient” won a whopping 9 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director (Anthony Minghella), Best Supporting Actress (Juliette Binoche), Best Original Dramatic Score (Gabriel Yared) and 5 more. The other Best Picture nominees were “Fargo”, “Jerry Maguire”, “Secrets & Lies” and “Shine”.
