Peter Gerety played Jim Sullivan, Ray’s old boss and the father of the Molly, who has applied for the position of Ray’s sweetheart. Sullivan is so loaded, he made Forbes but now he is dying and must leave his millions to his children. Molly is the only one he does not hold in contempt. Jim has a very colorful way of letting his sons know how he feels about them.

Kevin Corrigan played Declan, the oldest Sullivan offspring who was not happy with his father giving control of the company to his brother, Kevin. “Not happy” is really a big understatement. He’s only laughing in this image because his father insulted Kevin. We’re sure he’ll make some trouble that will require the services of the one and only Ray Donovan.

Mike Starr played Larry O’Malley, the retired Boston cop who was involved in the ’77 Brinks heist. Kidnapped from his nursing home by Mickey, Sandy and Daryll, O’Malley put up quite a fight. It may have been the highlight of the episode. He knocked the three of them around like rag dolls and it was quite a contrast to Terry knocking out the impound security guard (Dante Nero) with one punch. The security guard was just as beefy as O’Malley. Some boxing moves from Daryll didn’t even make O’Malley sway sideways and Sandy had to knock him out with a rock! The shock treatment that Mickey and Sandy administered to O’Malley did get Mickey some of the information he wanted, but O’Malley died and his death has already been broadcast on the news as a homicide. It probably won’t take Jim Sullivan long to figure out it was Mickey’s handiwork.

Here is the song “Those Were the Days” that O’Malley was singing along to with Mickey and Sandy before all hell broke loose.

More Notes:

• There was no explanation of what happened with Terry at the cult after he was rescued from ending his own life by Dolores. He just went back home. Ray found him in his bed and got him back on his feet.

• Detective Perry was seen staking out Daryll’s building in this episode. Does she think Daryll and Mickey are stupid enough to go back there? Actually, she’s may be right. They are that stupid.
