Memphis Wins Big over Oklahoma City. Really Big.

The Memphis Grizzlies led the Oklahoma City Thunder 12-8 five minutes into their NBA game on December 2nd. After that, the Grizzlies took off, building a 31-16 lead after the 1st quarter. Next, they outscored the Thunder 41-20 in the 2nd quarter, taking a 72-36 lead into the locker room at halftime.

OKC put up its best scoring output of the game in the 3rd quarter. But that was 26 points, while Memphis again scored 41. The Thunder could only score 17 in the final quarter, and Memphis rolled to a whopping 152-79 victory over the Thunder. The Grizzlies set a franchise record for points scored, and an NBA record for the largest margin of victory at 73 points. The previous record was 68.

Memphis shot 62.5% from the field while OKC was just 33%. Nine Grizzlies scored in double figures, including six off the bench (the starters only played between 15 and 21 minutes), with starter Jaren Jackson Jr. leading the way with 27 points. Memphis shot 52.8% from three point range (52.8%), while the Thunder were just 11 for 38 (28.9%).
