I can’t stand it when the ” host ” repeats every answer the contestants give. It is very irritating!

  2. James says:

really bad trivia show, the “experts” make stupid remarks that are meant to be funny, Maybe, in their defense the writers give these comebacks in an attempt to make the show entertaining. Not working!

Thanks so much for posting this, VJ. I really appreciate it, since I don’t have the GSN, unfortunately.

Great recap of the new trivia show on GSN, VJ. Last night, while enduring yet another evening of being “Sleepless on St. Simons”, I watched the first two episodes and I’m sorry to admit this, but I was profoundly under-whelmed!
Your comment regarding how easy the multiple choice questions are considering you have some of the best trivia minds on the planet playing this game are spot on!
And I think the show’s weakest link is the “Ultimate Trivia Challenge” as the finale. They’re trying to set up an adversarial confrontation between “Trivia Expert” and the contestant, but the trivia experts are all super nice people who seem to rooting for the contestant to win the $10K while they slowly chew them up and spit them out. (They’re probably trying to create some of the allure that “The Chase” has between trivia expert Mark “The Beast” Labbett and the people that go up against him, but he relishes the “bad guy” role. I just can’t see Ken Jennings or Muffy Marracco being condescending to anyone.)
And speaking of “The Chase”, Brooke Burns does an amazing job as the combo of show host and cheerleader for the contestants. She seems to create a real bond w/ them as they try to defeat The Beast. Sherri Shepard lacked that rapport. Perhaps as the show gains a little momentum, some of these kinks will be worked out…
Thanks again for the excellent recap and review!
