Final Jeopardy: Famous Americans (8-16-21)

Today’s Final Jeopardy question (12/21/2020) in the category “Famous Americans” was:

After his public comments were criticized by FDR, he resigned his Air Corps Reserve commission in April 1941

This show is a repeat of a repeat. 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, it is. The game was first aired on 10/14/2004. I didn’t see it when it first aired so it really wasn’t a rerun for me on 12/21/2020.

We had a different show airing here. I wonder if anyone else did, too?

    • VJ says:

Do you remember who the players were on your show, Rhonda? (I’m just wondering if they were in the same week)

      • rhonda says:

Ugh, I can’t remember their names, two of them were from Toronto, I do remember that the FJ was a triple stumper, the answer was Pentecostals, everyone said 7th day Adventists. The question had to do with this religious group taking it’s name from the days of the week. Sorry my m emory is so horrid, VJ. Tonight I’ll write down the name of the contestants if you’d like.

        • VJ says:

It’s not that important, Rhonda, it’s just strange. If you get a different one, though, just the FJ response is good enough to share. Just from that, I was able to figure out you saw this game

It is very strange, it seems like no one else had a different show, VJ. I’ll be sure to let you know if today’s show is different as well. Thanks for letting me know which game aired here.

  2. Howard says:

Lynda Byrd and Luci Baines Johnson (both with initials LBJ like their parents) were not Nixon’s kids.

And it’s pretty sad that only Ken knew about Lindbergh’s pro-isolationist positions.

Yeah, seriously, VJ. This episode aired, like, really, I can’t even say it. It, aired, like, three times already! I am so going crazy right now. Oh well, at least it is still an episode of Jeopardy! Also, thank you so very much for posting every day’s recaps of the show! I really like how you organize them! You rock!

    • VJ says:

Yes, Darius, I agree that at least they aired something for us to watch even if we were hoping they would air other shows from “the vault” we haven’t seen.

Most likely, they are pressed for time with all the things they have to do to set up the new season. I prefer to try to be understanding than to sit around griping. 😁

It is very nice of you to say you like how I organize the recaps and I appreciate it. Thank you!
