WHO IS CHARLES LINDBERGH?

In May 1927, Charles Lindbergh became an American hero after a successful nonstop flight across the Atlantic from Long Island to Paris, France. Showered with many accolades, he was promoted to the rank of colonel in the Air Corps Reserve and awarded a Medal of Honor. He also became Time Magazine’s first Man of the Year. After the kidnapping and murder of his infant son, Lindbergh moved to Europe for a number of years. He returned to the USA in 1939, at which time he advocated staying out of the developing war in Europe. He became a leading voice for the isolationist America First Committee. This led to him butting heads with Franklin Roosevelt who viewed Lindbergh as an anti-Semitic and a Nazi sympathizer.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Lindbergh changed his views and flew many missions in the Pacific. He applied to have his commission reinstated, but that was shot down by the White House.

K.C. wrote down “NO CLUE.” She bet and lost it all.

Graham thought it was “Mitchell.” He lost $6,401 and finished with $399.

Ken got it right. He added $5,100 to his score and won the game with $29,900. His 57-day total is $1,936,300.

Nice to see Alex on a hockey rink. He loved the sport.
Something like 9 triple-stumpers in a Ken Jennings game is hard to believe.

  2. Lou says:

Ken has been pretty dominant in his run. Though I can’t wait to see him guest host jeopardy by the time 2021 rolls in. It kind of sucks that your internet hasn’t been working well VJ. I also had the same problem until we switched to something more efficient.

  3. Dal Higbee says:

Why didn’t Ken risk $100 more than he did in his final wager?

  4. VJ says:

Sorry this is so late… my internet has been out most of the day!! It was going in and out after Jeopardy! aired here, then it just went kaput. The cable company said it will be fixed sometime tomorrow but Nikki set up a hot spot for me when she came home from work 😁
