We thought the hardest clue this week was on Tuesday. Not everyone is up on Instagram stats or international soccer. The rest of the clues had good date connections at least and we thought Wednesday’s clue was the easiest by virtue of its frequent appearances on the boards, avec ou sans Émile Zola.

Jeopardy! champs, week of January 6, 2020

Karen Farrell returned on Monday as a 7x champ and won on Monday. On Tuesday, she was defeated by Lisa Warne-Magro, who won again on Wednesday. Katie Needle took over on Thursday with the week’s top payday. She won her second game on Friday and will be back for Game 3 on Monday.
