Tricky Final today. “Inaugural speech” was way too obvious and I believe a year before the date in the clue. SOTU came to me right near the end, but probably not in enough time to write it out.
Nasty stumpers except for the Down Under Capital and the 3-letter drama queen. That latter word is a common answer in crosswords. The unsolved clues in Before and After Names ($1600 and $2000) were a cinch if you’re into music and sports, especially for we seniors who saw “West Side Story” and grooved to the Beach Boys and Motown tunes.
@Howard, I got that $2000 Good Vibrations Before and After. I thought that was a great clue!
I only got the West Side Story half of the $1600 clue.
As a sports junkie, I can assure you that Kawhi Leonard is a superstar who keeps a very low profile and made that half of the clue tough.
Emmett is looking good for that 4th win which will secure his spot in the next toc.
