Squashing the allegory theory, the daughters of the author of this novel say it’s “just a story about rabbits”

WHAT IS “WATERSHIP DOWN”?

The last time “Watership Down” (1972) was a Final Jeopardy! clue was on 11/26/2021, Amy Schneider’s 8th game. That one was about Lapine, the rabbits’ language. The daughters of Richard Adams, the novel’s author, reiterated their father’s reaction to the public reading hidden meanings about communism and/or religion into the work. “Rubbish!” he always said. “It’s just a story about rabbits.” The daughters’ 2018 revelations came out ahead of a 2018 animated remake of the tale that was “less gory” than the 1978 original.

On Sporcle: How many of these famous rabbits do you know?

Anji didn’t have a response. She bet and lost her whole $7,000.

Carol got it right. She bet $6,201 and finished with $14,001.

Alex got it right, too. He bet $2,100 and won the game with $25,000. Alex Gordon is the new Jeopardy! champ.

Sometimes FJ leads me down a rabbit hole, but tonight that was not an issue!

Carol was impressive at times and had a few shots at preventing a runaway, but too many wrong responses. Alex was poised and darn smart. The Roman orator stumped him till the last moment.

The fictional journal wasn’t too tough, neither was the notable boulevard.
The E-W interstate was tricky, but I’ve been there a number of times. It runs from Jacksonville to Santa Monica.
The Mt Pentelicus clue was not difficult to decipher. Neither was Judaism’s greatest prophet.
Not into reggae but knew the Jimmy Cliff classic tune’s name.
