WHO IS CIO-CIO SAN?
“Madama Butterfly” by Giacomo Puccini is a tragic love story. Cio-Cio San (whose name means “butterfly” in Japanese) is a 15-year-old Japanese geisha. While stationed in Nagasaki, U.S. Navy Lieutenant Pinkerton thinks it’s a good idea to marry Cio-Cio San because he can just desert her. Under Japanese law that spells d-i-v-o-r-c-e and he’ll be free to marry an American.
As expressed in the famous aria “Un bel dì, vedremo”, Cio-Cio San can’t believe that Pinkerton won’t return. In case your Italian is rusty, this video has English subtitles.
Wayne tried Aida. He bet and lost his whole $12,200.
Adam got it right. He bet $1,401 and won the game with $24,401. Adam’s 9-day total is $192,805. A win tomorrow definitely means superchamp status and, very likely, over $200K.
