3/3 on DD, but, I wonder if they would give me FJ, as I said “M. Butterfly”. Probably not, but, had I said “Madama”, that’s the literal translation of Cio-Cio San.
Was it just me, or did Maria seem “flat” in affect?
Maria sealed her fate early by identifying Michigan as a New England state, followed by repeated misses. Wayne hung in there and actually prevented a runaway. I nailed all 3 DDs but came up short on FJ. Was thinking HMS Pinafore (OK probably not an opera) but took the low road and said Carmen. Guessed the Magyar chieftain (probably the one person I associate with Hungary). Thought for sure someone would know where the USS Constitution is (we boarded it as part of a city tour) and the Lancaster role.
That was a self-inflicted close call for Adam. It was unlike him to guess at those $2000 clues that made him fall below runaway territory. Merde! Then he doesn’t bet enough on his DD to recoup his losses.
That Burt Lancaster film was a great movie! & his only Oscar win. Quotes from Burt’s great films.
