WHAT ARE WASHINGTON (D.C.) & KANSAS CITY?

The title “Commander in Chief” as applied to the U.S. President comes from Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution: “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States….”

The Washington Commanders adopted their current nickname in February of 2022. It was chosen by the team’s president and head coach to reflect the city’s ties to the military and as a nod to the nation’s Commander in Chief.

The Kansas City Chiefs adopted the nickname Chiefs in honor of Kansas City mayor Harold Roe Bartle who helped the team relocated to Kansas City. I’m not sure if the nickname itself has caused more controversy than the Native American imagery used by the team; however, they have scaled back on the latter.

Sarah bet $3,284 and finished with $7,284.

Joey bet $199 and finished with $8,399.

Adam bet $901 and won the game with $19,101 for an 8-day total of $168,404.

I saw Yul Brynner live in “The King and I” at the Uris theater in 1977, with Constance Towers as Anna. It was the tour before the final one in the 80s. We had good seats, too, courtesy of my MIL. I could see Yul’s eyeliner!!
