4 clues later, Morgan got the last Daily Double in “Broadway Musicals’ Opening Numbers” under the $1,200 clue. That made it all the more funny that he said “Broadway, Physics” when he picked the previous DD, since both were under $1200. In the lead with $16,000 now, he had $7,400 more than Shawn in second place. He bet $5,000 and he was RIGHT.

“Food, Glorious Food” show

Morgan finished in the lead with a runaway $21,400. Shawn was next with $10,200 and Charles was in third place with $8,200.

Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS VERMONT?

The 8 Ivy League colleges are all located in the Northeast. In the Mid-Atlantic States, you’ve got four: Columbia & Cornell in New York, Princeton in New Jersey and the Univ. of Pennsylvania in Philly. These states all share borders.

There are also four In New England: Brown in Rhode Island, Yale in Connecticut, Harvard in Massachusetts and Dartmouth in New Hampshire. Vermont and Maine don’t have an Ivy League school. It’s pretty obvious which one doesn’t share a border with 3 other states.

Charles got it right. He bet $8,000 and finished with $16,200.

Shawn went with Connecticut. That cost him $6,201 and landed him in third place with $3,999.

Morgan also had Connecticut. He didn’t bet anything though so he won the game with the $21,400 he already had. Morgan Wilbanks is the new Jeopardy! champ.

Shawn did very well in the 1st Round, and then, in the Double Jeopardy! Round, everything that could go wrong for him, did go wrong for him. Shawn had some costly misses. Morgan found both Daily Doubles, bet big on them, pulled both of them off, and just took the game away from Shawn.

Wowee, that was some turnaround for Morgan! From third place at the end of the first round to a runaway. It was really cute at the end of the show when he offered to bump elbows with Trebek in lieu of the handshake.

On that Woody Allen clue, in my house, we always say “are you Houdini?” to a person (or animal) who seems to magically appear in every room you go in.

So we finished this week up with some two time winners and no repeat champions plus one triple solve We now have to wait till June to see if Morgan can get a streak going. Not sure why Shawn went with my home state. But even if he did choose Vermont he still wouldn’t have won.
