WHAT IS CARRARA?

What do 20th century English artist & sculptor Henry Moore and Renaissance painter and sculptor Michelangelo have in common? Both sculpted in marble and both used marble from the quarries located in Carrara, Italy to produce amazing works of art. The above video shows many buildings that were built with Carrara marble, as well as reproductions of famous statues. At the end of the video, the narrator says that the marble supply is not infinite and it will run out sometime. In the meantime, if you have a mind to, you can buy Carrara marble countertops for your home and you will also have something in common with Henry Moore and Michelangelo.

An old clue: MICHELANGELO ($200) Until the Pope demanded Pietrasanta, Michelangelo quarried this material from Carrara

Tom had nothing for a response. He lost his $100 bet and finished with $1,000.

Wendy took a stab at it with Alba. She lost him $1,100, dropping her down to $2,500.

Brendan wrote down “Paintbrush,” to Katie’s amusement. He lost $1,200 and won the game with the remaining $7,600. Brendan Sargent is the new Jeopardy! champ.

I had no idea on either of the first two daily doubles either. How is ‘Muay Thai’ a $1,200 clue?

  5. Lou says:

Rough game today and those daily doubles were not nice to any of the contestants sad to say. I didn’t get this one either though I do know about moore and Michaelangelo as sculptors. But still though a comedic response from Brendan. I thought Tom could have pulled off another win today VJ.
