First, props to VJ for a 33 year old clue!!

The first round was what I expected – just blazing good. It’s remarkable the difference between this tourney and the second chance. However, Dennis blanking, and not saying anything, was atypical. Nick was prescient in catching himself and forming a question.

I got the Zac Brown Band clue because my wife is a huge fan! She says they’re all accomplished musicians – the bass player does a version of Enter Sandman, from Metallica, which is better than Metallica’s!

I missed final. I thought it was canny that the subject was “British” Cities, not “English”. As such, I first thought something in Scotland, but then said Cardiff, Wales (I went fanciful for the beast of burden with a dragon). Didn’t even think of the rebus!

I’m def happy with this group. Look forward to tomorrow!

I first thought of Manchester for FJ, and then went for Stratford-upon-Avon (for lack of a better choice). Oh well!

Can’t watch tonight or the next few. FJ and 2/3 DDs and all but one of the stumpers eluded me. A bit surprised that middle DD was a $2000 clue. Even if you don’t know what “fer” is in English, you might know that Fe is its chemical symbol, and its pills are called ferrous sulfate.

Tough final to start the week as we got a triple stumper thanks to that pesky geography clue.

Coincidence: Anybody who looked at the old clues on Spoiler Talk this morning would have nailed the poet who loved Laura. hee hee hee. Also, the doctor and poet father of the Supreme Court justice was in an old clue on there, though idk how much help that would have been.
