The Pan-American Exposition of 1901 was a world’s fair held in Buffalo, New York that showcased the latest technological advances, particularly electricity. Thomas Edison was one of the famous attendees. Buffalo Bill and Geronimo were two of the attractions. The event was overshadowed by the assassination of President William McKinley on 9/6/1901 by anarchist Leon Czolgosz. It initially appeared that McKinley would recover but he took a turn for the worse and died on September 14th. Vice President Theodore Roosevelt was sworn in as President in Buffalo the same day.
