TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
From AfroLegends.com: “Tripoli, or Tarabulus in Arabic, is known as Tripoli-of-the-West, to distinguish it from its ancient Phoenician sister city of Tripoli in Lebanon which means Levantine Tripoli or Tripoli of the East. Tripoli, Libya, is affectionately called the Mermaid of the Mediterranean (arusat-el-bahr: bride of the sea) describing its turquoise waters and its whitewashed buildings. In reality, Tripoli is a Greek name which means “Three Cities” (Tria for three, Polis for city) in reference to the Libyan province of Tripolitaine encompassing the three cities of Oea (modern-day Tripoli), Leptis Magna, and Sabratha.”
According to wikipedia, “Bride of the Sea is a nickname applied to several coastal cities, notably: Jaffa, Israel; Venice, Italy; Tripoli, Libya; Alexandria, Egypt.”
Adella did not have a response. She only bet $800 and finished with $7,000.
Greg got it right, after crossing out a capital “A”. He bet $8,401, bringing him up to $21,201.
Sarah crossed out Damascus in favor of the correct response. She bet $4,401 and won the game with $25,601. Her 2-day total is $52,402.

I’m confused. Did the blonde woman win?
@Scott, yes, she did. So sorry for the confusion.
I thought that I fixed the image earlier but I guess it didn’t take. We were in the middle of a birthday party here. My twin grandkids turned 5 today.
Wow, VJ, how time flies. Happy birthday to them, warm wishes that they continue to thrive happily!
Thanks so much, Cece. They had a grand time today, that’s for sure. 😄 Their parents let them shop for their own presents. I think that’s very smart. I did, too, but online and that stuff isn’t coming till tomorrow. Jax picked out this moose puppet (over a unicorn) because “he’s a boy.” Then he said, “Why does he have X’s on his eyes? … I think he’s dead.” OMG!
Hahaha. I say that’s a weird looking moose, the kid is right, he does look dead, lol
lol, Cece, it was hilarious. He likes hand puppets a lot though. I’ve been buying them now and then for a couple of years and they have a nice collection. I’ll either get some little black velcro dots for pupils or he can be The Ghost 🤣🤣
I like The Ghost 😂😂😂
lol, Cece, but now I’m leaning towards The Phantom (and maybe teach him a new word).
I don’t get why Sarah didn’t go back to the two clues that had to contain the second Daily Double.
I was glad Greg got it and made the final more of a contest.
Sarah came out strong today with a broad knowledge. Greg was very close in defeating Sarah but it didn’t happen. I ‘d say this was a great match with good opponents. All the daily doubles were nailed and we should see it happen more often. If you remember from Veronica’s fourth game, one of her opponents totally sucked badly. Unlike them, today’s players are much better, VJ. We need actual contestants that can play this game with determination and skill, don’t you agree?
No, Lou, I don’t agree. As I have said many times, I watch the game for the clues, not to be judgmental about the contestants and not because I want to see someone go on a long streak of games. What I think sucks is that you would bring up a contestant’s performance from another game to knock. Each game has its own pressures that affects different players differently.
Also, by the way, I don’t put up the list of triple stumpers as a statement on the players’ knowledge. I put them up because they were the hardest clues of the game for the panel and, generally, I’m lucky if I get half of them myself. I like looking them up because I think it helps me and other people remember stuff about the clue. Also, it’s a nod to my parents who always said “Look it up!” (way back before we had internet).
Well said. I enjoy the blog daily. Thank you VJ.
Thank you, Beast 😃
