NONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
Forbes will tell you how, in 2000, the popularity of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” put Regis Philbin in a “top banana” position. At the same time, he was already making a pretty penny hosting “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.” When Gifford departed in July 2000, according to the NY Post, the show was temporarily renamed “Live with Regis” and experienced a significant increase in viewers.
From 1999: PEOPLE $1000: Regis Philbin has 2 middle names: Xavier & this saintly one that often precedes Xavier
Megan went with Dr. Phil, after crossing out the beginning of Geraldo. She lost $5,700. That left her with $3,300.

John picked Ryan Seacrest. That only cost him $600, giving him a $30,000 win today. His 3-day total is $67,200.

Ah, well done John. I initially thought Ryan Seacrest as well because I interpreted the syndicated show as his radio show. Of course, I checked and American Idol didn’t premiere until 2002. So I was wrong there also. I hope John goes on a long run, he seems very knowledgeable.
@Phil
Well the category was “TV Personalities”. Mixing in a radio talk show program would have been more than just sneaky. Though with J! you never know. They have put up misleading clues , red herrings and wild goose chases galore over the decades….LOL
Well, I didn’t think it was easy by any means. Maybe if they had a little extra something in that clue like in 2000 “the year his co-host departed,” it would have been a lot easier.
@Lou, I can’t really say that I’m an impatient person because I have a lot of patience sometimes, but I can’t deal with shows like “Millionaire.” It takes too long to get to the answer for me.

P.S. There is a “Part 3” video on youtube of Regis on the first ever Celebrity Jeopardy on 10/26/1992. I don’t see the first two parts on there though.
Or if they said “game show” for the primetime program
Oh, my gosh. How did all three not know about him? I mean, the clue is very easy, but how did all three not know Regis Philbin?
If Regis Philbin is still hosting Millionaire, I bet those three wouldn’t dare to say, “Final answer.”
Let me congratulate John on his victory and since we finished this week with a four time winner and a possible streaker going for next week. John could easily get close to Robert worman if he keeps playing like this. But I have to wonder how did these guys not know Regis philbin who used to host live with Kathy Lee? Although the other guesses weren’t bad but their shows (Dr. Phil) and Larry King live were decent but not as good as who wants to be a millionaire. VJ and John you both watched that show right how good were you guys playing along with the questions?
@Lou
Not too bad, especially since you had a lot of time to mull it over, Sometimes it took almost 5 minutes for 1 question, especially in the higher $ amount area. You learned something new every time as well, but not as much and not in such a short time as with J.
It did lose its appeal for me after a while. Answers just took too long.
@Lou I always watched Millionaire. I always do, especially since Christopher de Leon and Vic Sotto hosted the Philippine versions.
Well, what do you know? After a rather “weak” start in his first game/win, the 2nd runaway in a row for John, so CONGRATULATIONS!! John is closing out the week as a 3 day champ.
