WHAT IS “THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA”?
In 2013, on the 25th anniversary of the Broadway opening of “Phantom of the Opera”, Broadway Buzz published 25 Phabulous Phacts about the play. No. 14 lists Howard McGillin “the world’s longest-running Phantom.” No. 13 says that there have been 12 Phantoms; however, when the 33rd anniversary was coming up this past January, Playbill noted that 16 actors had been cast in the role since its debut. These statistics are only applicable to Broadway musicals, as there are hundreds playing the role of Phantom around the world.

Smith Barney the ‘old fashioned’ way. I would have beaten all 3 of those kids today. I am old enough to remember John Houseman and his commercial.
What was the one about Sugarloaf Mtn in Maine? Can’t remember! Tx.

Thank you! It was making me crazy!
Just for the record, the Final Jeopardy category was “Broadway Roles.”
Thanks for a great recap site!
Thanks for the compliment and also for the heads up on the category. It’s fixed now.
‘ That spelled Trouble with a capital “T” ’
Bravo VJ!
Thanks, DC — I couldn’t resist. “The Music Man” is one of my faves. Here’s a link to an article on Matt, where he says his dad won on Jeopardy! years ago. Also, he and his dad were on the first episode of Beat Shazam! and they won a bundle.
I recapped that show.
Morgan seems to have that buzzer mojo down today and it helped her greatly. Speaking of phantom of the opera I remember reading about it but I have not seen the show on Broadway for such a long time. I thought the opponents would have known this one. Good scores today. Let’s hope Morgan can keep her wins going. She seems to be expanding her knowledge here.
