TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHAT IS “AS TIME GOES BY”?
“The first Warner Bros. logo was seen in 1923, and featured the letters ‘WB’ on the bottom half of a shield. It wasn’t until 1937 that audiences saw some semblance of the logo we know today: the WB filling the shield, which itself floats in front of a cloud-filled sky. (For a 12-year period between 1972 and 1984, the shield was dropped altogether.) Starting in 1999, some logos use an 8-chord tune that turns into a fully orchestrated snippet from Casablanca’s much-loved “As Time Goes By”” (Time: Warner Bros. logos)
A 1989 clue: MOVIE TRIVIA ($400) The 1st time this song is heard in “Casablanca”, Ingrid Bergman is humming it
Krista thought it was “Singin’ in the Rain.” She lost her $1,000 bet and finished with $2,000.
Liz got it right. She bet $8,600 and that brought her up to $18,800.
Ragavan got it right, too. He bet $1,701 bet so he won the match with $20,401 and he is the new Jeopardy! champ.
2 triple stumpers from the last round :
WOMEN AUTHORS ($2000) In “The Women of” this location Gloria Naylor wove together the stories of 7 African-American women
SUPERHERO TV SUPPORTING CHARACTERS ($2000) Foggy Nelson & Karen Page

I loved seeing the leader not miss the final Jeopardy for a change we’re so used to that lately.
I agree, Alex Epstein!
Great play by ragavan. Good game. VJ, do you remember who the actors or actresses were in the as time goes by movie? The wb logo has, been used on cartoons like animaniacs, loonatics, unleashed, road rivers, and pinky and the brain.
@Lou, sure I remember who was in Casablanca, there’s a post on the film on here with a bunch of trivia and Jeopardy! clues and a video from the year it won Best Picture
VJ, what a fantastic find on movie logos of companies with their music. Very interesting to know. They may come up in future clues.
Congrats Ragavan on your win. Good game.
Thanks Jacob. That was a cool story Ragavan told about meeting Warren Buffett. I thought it was kinda funny when he mixed up the Outlanders’ author’s name because people might be unsure about how to say his name. If he ever met her and she mispronounced his name, Ragavan might think she saw this match. lol!
That was a great comeback from the combined cost of that clue and the missed DD.

VJ, I only heard the tail end of Ragavan’s Warren Buffett story. Did he get to meet him in high school? My son would have loved to have won a contest like that!!
@Rhonda, he didn’t say if he was in high school or college– he just said he won a stock pitch competition with one of his friends and that WB is one of his heroes.
Thanks, VJ.
Today’s Secret Word turned up in a couple of prior clues, and Alex delivered one of them on location:
GALAPAGOS WILDLIFE $1200: One of three varieties found in the Galapagos, the blue-footed type of this bird really stands out against the drab rocks
You only needed the one word to win that $1200, but you need this for today’s Secret Word: BLUE-FOOTED BOOBY
