Kevin Durant Reaches Career Milestone

The Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant reached a career milestone in the Suns game against the Memphis Grizzlies on February 11th. The 17 year NBA veteran became the eighth player to score 30,000 points in league history. Durant scored 34 points in the contest, but Memphis beat the Suns 119-112 in Phoenix.

The 36 year old Durant is showing no signs of slowing down. He is averaging 27.1 points per game this season, almost exactly matching his career average of 27.3 ppg. He has been named a starter at this year’s NBA All Star Game, the 15th time he’s been an All Star. Durant won two NBA championships as a member of the Golden State Warriors (2017 and 2018); he was the Finals MVP both years. He was the NBA MVP in 2014, one of four seasons where he led the NBA in scoring. All of this adds up to Durant being a shoe in for the Hall of Fame when he finally hangs up his sneakers.
